An icon of freedom

This has been a sad week for Filipinos' everywhere. Former Philippine president Corazon Aquino passed away last Aug.1 after a year-long battle with colon cancer. I heard the news from BBC News during dinner and I was in shock because I have no idea that she was ill.

For those who experienced living in a country that was ruled by a tyrant and a dictator for more than 20 years, freedom is something we value. I remember attending the rallies and vigils, the Laban sign and buying those pins that support the cause. We quenched for freedom and truth and Tita Cory made it all happen.

Tita Cory will be buried this week next to Ninoy and I hope that her legacy will live forever.

Recently completed some freelance work for PhotoSensitive about Community Living, Inspiring Possibilies. A photo exhibition recently held at the Allen Lambert Galleria, Brookfield Place Toronto last April 7, 2009. It showcased Community Living's support to people with an intellectual disability as captured by the top photographers in Toronto.

One of the series of three typographic posters designed for the awareness and prevention of child abuse as sponsored by the Children's Aid Society Toronto. Typographic posters means that the main component of the design are type. Reason behind this is bec. type makes the language come alive.

Freedom Type

This is a type in motion project I made. I specifically chosen Rage Against the Machine's Bulls on Parade song because it encompasses my ideas and thoughts about free speech. Words used from RATM's discography and video, including "Free Speech is like money, some people just have a lot more of it than others". In addition, is a quotation from Jean Jacques Rousseau "Man is born free but everywhere he is in chains".

It's the second year, and the theme is GREEN. The concept of a tree sprung up and this is a sample tree design. The first invitation is pretty simple, a Luau party. This is what the invite looked like.
